An agreement has been reached between Pharmarama International Limited and Yasoo Health Inc. for the exclusive UK distribution of their range of nutritional supplements (AquADEKs®) designed to advance the standard of nutritional care for cystic fibrosis (CF) patients.
According to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, CF is the UK’s most common life-threatening inherited disease and affects over 8,000 people in the UK. In CF, pancreatic insufficiency and diminished bile acid pool cause fat-soluble nutrients and antioxidants to be poorly absorbed.
AquADEKs is an antioxidant rich, multivitamin and mineral supplement specially designed to meet the needs of CF patients. AquADEKs uses proprietary microsphere technology to overcome malabsorption of fat-soluble vitamins and antioxidants.
AquADEKs has been studied in two clinical trials conducted at the Children's Hospital and University of Colorado Health Sciences Centre.1,2
AquADEKs is available in liquid, softgel and chewable tablet formats.
Yasoo developed AquADEKs with funding from the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) and funding from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Therapeutic Development Grant.
AquADEKs will be distributed to hospitals and retail pharmacies in the UK by Pharmarama, a licensed wholesaler and importer of medicines with over 12 years of experience in this field.
